Company History ...
Established:
In June 2005, Eco-Terr was formed as a division of Washington General Inc. The purpose of forming the Eco-Terr division was to determine if there was a U.S. market for the eco-friendly and pervious soil stabilizing products being manufactured in Germany and the "brand names" conceptualized by Eco-Terr.
Test marketing began by exploring consumer attitudes in the Greater Seattle area equestrian community and developing a website to evaluate market interest on the Internet. The equestrian community expressed a strong preference for pervious products that would control "mud" on small farm facilities. The equestrian and agricultural markets are under pressure to reduce and/or eliminate agricultural storm water runoff, which is a significant source of Nonpoint Source Pollution in the surface and ground waters. The Internet channel revealed that commercial and government industries were taking notice of our pervious paving system branded "StabiliGrid" ™ for parking lots and emergency vehicle accesses. At the same time, residential consumers were taking a sincere interest in the Eco-Terr brand "HomeGrid" for driveways, landscaping and soil control on hill sides.
Along with the strong interest in the equestrian market, the initial Eco-Terr website (www.EcoTerr.com) response further revealed that "green" and emerging eco-friendly soil stabilization products were stimulating interest in the construction and landscaping industry. Further research indicated that, while the mega-corporations were directing their pervious pavement alternatives on sport fields and government buildings, the consumer and small business market (approximately 80% of the GDP) was not being addressed.

Our Products ...
Product Overview:
Pervious drainage systems (drain tiles, drain pipes, etc.) have long been used by US construction contractors. However, these products have a limited surface area exposure that can actually affect serious storm water runoff. Further, these products do not maintain the integrity of the soil, while decimating the integrity of - and reducing the supply of - life sustaining water on the earth.
